Senior Off Road ADV Riders

Our Story

This all started with a lifelong love for two wheels and open trails.

I’ve been riding dirt bikes since I was a kid. My dad was one of the founding members of the Dirt Diggers North Motorcycle Club, so you could say it’s in my blood. I spent years exploring the mountains and deserts of California and Nevada on two wheels. Then life shifted gears. I got into cars and racing for a while, and eventually, raising a family took center stage.

Fast forward to the early 2000s, and we were looking for a new family hobby. We sold the boat, bought a few dirt bikes, and hit the desert once again. For the next 15 years, we rode and raced across Southern California and Nevada together. When the time came to hang up the racing boots, I wasn’t ready to stop riding. I just needed something a little heavier that couldn’t be raced. That’s when I got my first dual sport bike. Then came the ADV (adventure) bike, and the urge to travel even farther.

While looking around on Facebook for riding groups for older folks like me, I noticed a gap. Most were either street riders or a small mix of ADV riders, but nothing really geared toward off-road-loving seniors. So I started a group: Senior Off-Road ADV Motorcycle Riders.

It took off faster than I ever expected.

It’s become an incredible space for older riders, men and women, to share their experiences, swap tips, and support one another. Whether it’s figuring out gear that works better as we age, or just sharing ride stories and inspiration, the community has grown into something special.

Still, I felt we needed something more permanent. Something easier to navigate. Something we owned. A space that couldn’t just disappear if a social media platform changed its rules.

So, with help from my sons, we created this website. Welcome to Senior Off-Road ADV — a hub for riders who still live for the ride, no matter their age.

We hope you enjoy it. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about the love of riding.
